Geneva International Airport
More commonly known as Geneva-Cointrin airport, this airport is located in the Canton of Geneva. Positioned after Zurich airport, it is the second largest airport in Switzerland in terms of passenger traffic and size.
In 2018, it welcomed 17.7 million passengers, an increase of 1.9% compared to 2017. It has a concrete runway, as it only has the latter. This airport is one of the busiest runway airports in the world.
In addition, since 2016 work has been underway to modify the east wing of the main terminal. It is intended to replace the current reception building for long-haul flights and this work is scheduled for completion in 2020.
